First stop… Deep Point Marina

Whether you’re flying or driving, your trip to Bald Head Island will begin at Deep Point Marina in Southport, NC, where you’ll catch the ferry to Bald Head Island. If you’re flying, the closest airports are Wilmington International Airport, Myrtle Beach International Airport, and Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Once you land, you will drive to the marina. Once you arrive at the marina, drop off your luggage at the ferry terminal, then park your car in the secure lot for the duration of your stay… Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your ferry departs to allow enough time!

Ferry Details

The ferry ride is just 20 minutes. Round trip ferry tickets are required for all passengers and can be purchased online in advance or when you arrive at the marina. The ferries run from 7am-10:30pm, leaving the mainland on the hour and the island on the half-hour. For additional ferry details and booking, please click here.

Island Ferry Dock —> Your Rental

Once the ferry arrives at the island, you will check in with the tram dispatcher to confirm your address. All tram rides are included with the price of a ferry ticket. Since your rental golf cart will be at your house, a tram (or ride!) is required for you to get from the dock to your rental. Please make your tram reservations when booking your ferry ticket.

Golf Carts

With no cars on the island, golf carts are the primary mode of transportation. Most rental homes come with golf carts to use during your stay. Additional golf carts and bikes can be rented through the Cary Cart Company (CCC) if needed.
